Making Your Cashmere Last for Decades, Softer Over Time

Taking good care of cashmere collection, the pieces can be handed down for generations. A cashmere knit is like a book. It is something to save and go back to time after time. How is Cashmere graded?

One of the most important factors used to determine the quality of cashmere is the fineness of the hairs on the fiber as well as the length of these hairs. Garments made from long and thin fibers are normally considered to be of high quality since they tend to maintain shape for longer and are also more durable than those made from cashmere fabrics that have short, thick hair. This variation in thickness and length of the cashmere hairs results into a number of cashmere grades, with the best quality normally considered to have hairs whose diameter ranges between 14...

What is the difference between wool and cashmere?

Cashmere and Wool are fabrics with similar properties used in many products. But despite their similar appearance, cashmere and wool are different. What is Cashmere?

Cashmere wool, usually simply known as cashmere, is a fiber obtained from cashmere goats  and other types of goat. Common usage defines the fiber as a wool but in fact it is a hair, and this is what gives it its unique characteristics as compared to sheep's wool. The word cashmere is an old spelling of the Kashmir region in northern India and Pakistan. Cashmere is fine in texture, strong, light, and soft. Garments made from it provide excellent insulation, approximately three times that of sheep wool. Cashmere is also softer than regular wool.
